There are so many times in your life where you feel like you have given so much of yourself. You wonder if you have enough left to give more. You question, when will someone pour back into you as much as you give to others?
I want to encourage you today. Every time you give of yourself, expect to grow. Giving requires sacrifice. Giving stretches you to move beyond yourself. Your perspective begins to change. Your outlook on life beings to shift. You learn to pour out and look for God to pour back in.
Feeling empty is not bad, but you have to remember where to go for a refilling.
28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
This is the Parable of the Talents. A man was going on a journey, and he entrusted his property to his servants. They were expected to use what they had and bring increase. However, all but one ended up with more than what was originally given to them. Majority brought an increase or was productive with what they had been given, but the one who hid or would not make due with what they had was dismissed and theirs was given to someone who would be responsible and productive.
What does this reveal?
God has entrusted many things to you. He has given you gifts, insight, joy, love, and more for you to be responsible and productive with. He is looking to see what you do with what he has placed on the inside of you. Something amazing to also consider is that what God has entrusted to you, he has given you an assistant to work along side you- Holy Spirit. You can consult with Holy Spirit to help you as we give of yourself, so when God sees your life, he can see that you stewarded your gifts well. God will reward you. Therefore, there is always more to gain when you give of yourself. God honors your sacrifice.
So when there are days when you have given, and you wonder who will fill you again. Be encouraged that God sees your sacrificial giving, and there is a reward for your sacrifice. Also, know that you dont have to rely on yourself, you can rely on God.
There is a reward in your giving.
