Transform Your Thinking
I hope you are having an amazing week. We are continuing the series of “Moving Beyond the Limits.” Today, I wanted to talk about the topic of “Transform your Thinking.”
Did you know that the way you think directly impacts how you live? The Bible says that so a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Some studies say that the way a person thinks is usually how their lives end up. However, when you begin to change your thinking, it causes your life to begin to align to your new beliefs. The Bible says that life and death are in the power of your tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Why is that? I believe it is because the more you say something, the more you start to believe it weather that is good or bad.
Therefore, we have to be mindful of what we say even in emotional states. Things may be hard at the moment, but we cannot allow moments to become our outlook on life. A result of using our mouths the wrong way, we limit ourselves. Instead, we must learn to transform our thinking, which is indicative of what we say.
It is not the end of the world if you are reading this and realize that your outlook can be very negative in hard times. Everyone has been there before; You Feel like things will not change or get better. This outlook comes from the enemy’s attempt to discourage us into thinking that God cannot heal, strengthen, work miracles, and change situations for the better.
Well, How do you change your thinking? What do you to perceive differently?
Philippians 4:6- “Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests by made known unto God.”
This scripture tells us to pray. The Bible is telling us not be anxious. Have you ever been anxious about your work, your future, your finances, your family, or another matter? When we are anxious, we are not relying on God. We are trying to rationalize the situation and use our logic to understand or fix the matter ourselves.
However, we cannot do anything successfully without God. If you really want to transform your thinking, it takes prayer. You have to see God as your ultimate source.
Philippians 4:8- “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things re just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there by any praise, think on these things.”
This scripture tells us what we can think on instead of continuing with a negative outlook. The scripture basically tells us to think on the good things about life. What brings you joy? What gives you hope? What inspires you? Who brings you a smile? These are the things you should focus on; these are things that can help get you through the difficult times of life.
Some days will be harder than others. It is hard to dismiss the challenges that we face. Nevertheless, don’t give up. Each day you wake up, make a choice to transform your mind.
I skipped Philippians 4:7, but it is important to mention now. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” I love this scripture because God says with prayer mentioned in the 7th verse above it, he will keep your heart and your mind. WOW! Have you ever felt like your heart was broken, torn, or destroyed? Guess what, there is a God who can heal your heart. It is not the end for you. It is not over for you. Then, we get to the 8th verse, which numerically means New Beginnings. Once you find your peace and your heart is mended, transform your mind, so you can keep your peace and healing.
God is your restorer, your healer, your Father, your friend, and your keeper. Therefore, choose His way. Transform your mind. Don’t limit your potential by not choosing to transform your thinking. Move Beyond the limits!
