A Fighter! A Warrior! A Woman full of Faith! A Woman of Strength! A Woman Ready for Battle! A Woman led by the Holy Spirit! A Woman who will not be Defeated! This is the life God intended for us to lead. We are not to walk in fear, doubt, insecurity, depression, or worry.
Women, God wants us "Armor Strong!" For the month of May, we will be looking at Ephesians 6:10-18 where the Word of God lays out the armor of the believer. We have to make sure that our armor is on as we journey through this life to reach the purpose and plan that God has for our lives.
The newest film of Wonder Woman came out in 2017, and she is one of many female superheroes created in the comic book world. She is a female heroine. She is a strong woman who was raised by strong women. She is bold, brave, courageous, and fearless. She represented the power of women. She does not fly, she can not become invisible, and she does not have super speed, but she uses her knowledge, armor, and weapons to defeat her enemies and walk in the purpose for her life. These are the same three elements that are essential for victory and reaching your destiny.
Knowledge, Armor, and Weapons
Each blog this month will focus on one part of the armor. Today, as an introduction, I want to look at the versus that precede the versus that begin to layout the different pieces of armor that believers must have.
These versus represent some of the Knowledge that is needed for victory and reaching your destiny.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Vs. 10 Encourages you to be strong and reminds you of what you can do with God's power and not your own. Have you ever tried to do something in your own power and felt like giving up? When you are faced with a challenge, you must know that God is with you. He is there to strengthen you and to help you.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Vs. 11 Instructs you to put on the full armor of God, so you can stand against the devil. Did you know that on your own you are no match for the devil? The devil is afraid of the God that you serve, and he is afraid of the Holy Spirit who lives inside you because He is the Power of God manifest in you! In this verse, the conjunction "so" means "as a result," which means that as a result of putting on the full armor of God, you can stand against the devil. You can overcome your greatest challenges.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Vs. 12 Explains to you that our flesh is not with the individuals around us but there is something greater at work against you. Did you know that your problems on your job, at school, in your family, or even in ministry go beyond any individual.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Vs. 13 Teaches that is why you need the full armor of God, so when things get difficult, when the enemy comes against you, when the world seems to be going mad, you STAND because you know who you are, who your enemy is, and you are ready for battle.
As we continue with this new series, I pray that you are encouraged. We are going to make sure that we have gained the knowledge of the need to be fully armored and what that armor is in the realm of the Spirit. It is time to take your place and be women who are ready for battle, who are strong, who are courage, and who are bold.
I love that the Bible says that we need the full armor of God. As we study this section of the Word of God, you may say well I think I have that piece of armor, but I don't have that one. We cannot be satisfied journeying through this life with pieces of the armor missing. We need every piece to be fully protected against attacks and ready for battle. Let's Be "Armor Strong!"
