Persevere in Study
Another day that God has blessed us to see. It is the last Saturday in 2017!! I am so thankful and grateful. There are two more blogs to finish off 2017, today and tomorrow. We will continue on the theme of Persevere for the month of December. Today, the focus is God's instruction to us to Persevere in Study.
In the new year, people make so many different resolutions for various things: weight, relationships, finances, and so many other things. However, have you considered making a change with your study time? II Timothy 2:15 (ESV), "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,[a] a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." As we pursue the goals and dreams that we have, it is imperative that we make God's word a priority. It is in that time given to study that God knows that he can trust you because what you learn from the word will reflect in the way you react, act, believe, and listen.
God's love is unconditional. However, God has expectations of us to receive His insurmountable blessings to flow in our lives.
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
In this passage Jesus teaches, the importance of the hearers and doers of His word. This house parable that Jesus uses represents our lives. If we want a life that remains strong, prosperous, and healthy, then we have to doers of God's word. His word teaches and guides and brings understanding and wisdom. If we expect to have the fullness of this life, we have to be sure to position ourselves to receive favor and blessings from relationship with God. God wants you to build on the word so that you can remain standing despite all of the challenges you undertake in this life.
Remove the Distractions:
There are many distractions in everyday life. Make a plan to remove the distractions. Are you a planner? Schedule time to read the word. Are you a morning person? Plan to read the word in the morning. Do you like the Bible Apps? Start a plan related to a topic that ministers to you. What works best for you? Make a plan and go for it!
In order for you to reach your destiny, trials will come. However, as long as you have the word of God as a foundation you can persevere! So Persevere in study, and then Persevere in every area of your life for unbelievable victories.
