Persevere in Prayer

December 30, 2017

Can you believe that in a few days we will be beginning the new year? 2018!! Wow!!! God gave me three final topics to blog about for the rest of 2017 based on the theme of Persevere for the month of December: Persevere in Prayer, Persevere in Study, and Persevere in Faith. For today, I will be beginning with the topic Persevere in Prayer.

As we strive to reach our goals and dreams, we have to make sure that we keep the things of God a priority. I heard someone say when we continue to build on our prayer life, we live life at an advantage. God is the one who is all knowing, so when we meet him in prayer, he gives us wisdom, direction, peace, and whatever else we may need. Therefore, persevering in prayer is not just something that is good to do, but it is something that is necessary for your life, your future, and reaching your goals.

Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." It is important that you train yourself to become faithful in prayer. Prayer is an opportunity for you to build your relationship with the Father. The more you commit to him, the greater he can trust you with. Therefore, make time and persevere in prayer. Allow God to become the most important to you in this life. It cannot be what is merely said from our mouths when we serve a God who knows every action and heart.

Philippians 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

When we are going through challenges and difficulties, we can persevere through the obstacles when we are persevering in prayer. There is a cliche phrase that says that Prayer Changes things. Prayer changes the situation, but prayer can also change the way you look at a matter before the change comes. As we pray, we are teaching ourselves to trust God more and rely on his power, will, and plan for our lives. Then, no matter what challenge is in front of us, we can keep the faith.

In 2018, make it a priority to persevere in prayer! Prayer is connected to your victories. Prayer is connected to your peace of mind. Prayer is connected to special revelation from God on matters of your heart and your goals.
