This month's topic is Persevere . As we conclude this year and get ready for the next, it is important that we have a mindset to persevere because it will allow us to continue to work to achieve our goals despite all obstacles.
Persevere- to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.
As believers, it is important that we are are encouraged to achieve only when conditions are favorable. It is easy to keep moving forward and believing when things are going well. However, what do you do in the seasons of your life that are so challenging that you would rather give up instead of continue to pursue? Now, I understand that things will not always be easy. Nevertheless, Miles Monroe stated, "What man calls a problem, is just an opportunity for growth." Therefore, it is important that we examine our mindset in order to reach goals, have success, and see vision fulfilled.
Ephesians 3:20 states, "Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that works within us."
This scripture is indicative of the notion that there is power in the way you see yourself. Your attitude determines how far you will travel and how high you will fly. You cannot allow other's opinion of you and what you can attain to hinder, stifle, or confine you to a certain level. What has God gifted you to do? What special capability has been given to you? What dream has been revealed for you to go after? It is time to pursue!
In I Samuel 30:8, David prayed and ask God after he came from war and the women and children were taken, should he pursue after the enemy, and God's response was pursue and you shall recover all. David heard God's response and took action. He went after that enemy and recovered all. WOW!! I believe that God wants you to recognize that today! Go after what he has presented to you through dreams, desires, and creative ideas, and He will be with you every step of the way! Will you take the next step to reach that goal?
Experiencing victory in your life will come with challenges and even some objections, but as long as you have the mindset to persevere, you will have victory. It has been too long living in fear, worry, and anxiety. Instead, take on the heart of the Lion. Recognize your place of authority and reach the goals that you have set for yourself. It is important that you begin to release your faith into the atmosphere today! With God you have an advantage!
In Soar, TD Jakes stated, "Like many monumental moments from the high points of history, their (Wright Brothers) triumph is one we all learned about in school. But rarely do we consider the years of painstaking work, heartbreaking disappointments, and furious determination that went into that first flight" (Jakes, p. 31).
You were designed to impact a community, a nation, a world. However, will you allow the challenges you encounter cause you to give up or slow you down? You have to make sure that you have the mindset of moving beyond all glass ceiling in your life: economic situations, family backgrounds, social issues, gender biases or any other stigmas or labels that people try to hold you to. You can surpass all of the critics, and walk into what God has destined for you to be. Miles Monroe stated, "The greatest revenge in life is success."
Do you believe? What you have encountered or are encountering will not break you, but it will make something beautiful in you! On the other hand, you will never know if you quit. Instead, Start New this month and next year with a mindset to Persevere!
