Fear- a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc.,whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.
Fear comes in many forms, in many situations, and at various times. Fear slows you down, discourages individuals from moving forward, believing for greater, and so much more.
Fear destroys Faith. It brings faith into question. It challenges what is understood. Fear create an environment that is hostile to hope and peace.
Nevertheless, we can erase fear with prayer and action.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV): For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- This scripture lets us know that there is more for us outside of fear.
What God has for us is so much greater.
Power- Luke 10:19 (KJV)- Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Love- I Corinthians 16:14 (NIV)- Do everything in love.
Sound Mind- Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
How do we get access to these things instead of fear? Prayer and Action.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
1. These scriptures says to bring everything to God in prayer, and you gain the peace you need.
2. To keep your peace it requires action- you have to be intentionally about what you choose to focus on
3. Move past your fear and do what fear is trying to stop you from doing.
Fear hinders or blocks who you are to be and what you are to do. Therefore, you have to make a choice to pray and take action.
Elijah flees from Jezebel- I Kings 19: 2- 4
Elijah talks with God- I Kings 19: 9-10, 15-18
Elijah was in fear, but God spoke to him.- Prayer- Communication between you and God
Elijah received instructions from God on what to do next.- Action- He took action. He moved past fear.
Have you prayed for God to help you in areas where you are fearful? Has God instructed you to action? Have you sought him for what you need to do? Ladies, we can move past our fears to be what God has called us to be!
