From Fear to Destiny
From Fear to Destiny
What is on your heart to pursue? What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goals? Someone is waiting for you to walk into your destiny. Someone is waiting for you to dream bigger so they can too.
I will be dealing with two concepts today. First is fear, which is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. Then, the second is destiny, which is the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.
YOU must move THROUGH fear in order to walk INTO Destiny.
Fear tries to plague the hearts in minds of people. Fear will cause you to stop when you are on the brink of something great. Fear will terrorize you from going after your dream. Fear will stifle your pursuit of greatness because you no longer believe it is possible. Fear will leave you wishing you had did more instead of being thankful that you moved on past being afraid. Fear attacks your destiny.
II Timothy 1:7 (KJV) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
(CEB) “God didn’t give us a spirit that is timid but one that is powerful, loving, and self-controlled.”
The Holy Spirit that was given to us is powerful, loving, and self-controlled, so you don’t have to walk like you are weak, unloved, or losing your mind to any circumstances.
Due. 5:5 “Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”
Don’t be intimidated by others, and don’t focus on the negative things that others or the devil has to say about you or your dream.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Where there is fear, there is no peace. God desires for you to be at peace.
Do not allow fear to hinder your progress. You must move through it. Fear comes from the enemy. He wants you to fear rejection, failure, and so many other lies based on hypothetical occurrences. Don’t believe what he has to say. Believe that what God has destined you to become you can become. It should not matter what obstacles come your way. You go after your dream, and you can leave the results up to God. God is the one who blesses. God is the one who promotes. God is the one who opens the doors of opportunity. God is the one who gave you a dream that can bring glory to Him.
Destiny is what can only be stopped when you stop. Destiny is what was preordained for you to accomplish, go, and achieve. Destiny is what you were designed to do. Destiny takes the person who you are and places it where you will be the most effective.
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God’s plans for your life are good and not evil, and they are to get you to the destiny that he has designed for your life.
Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV) “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
The dream or vision that you have will happen at an appointed time. Don’t lose heart when things have not completely reached its potential. You have to have faith that it will happen.
Isiah 55:11 (ESV) “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."
This lets us know that what God has told you, what the word of God says concerning you, and what has been prophesied in your life, it shall come forth. However, you have to make sure that you keep going, keep believing, and go after your dream.
As you begin to walk through fear, you can begin to walk into destiny. I believe God is waiting for you to move past your fears so that he can move you into destiny. It is about taking one step at a time. What is the first step to your reaching your goal and dream?
Last summer, I began this blog. Then I created a Facebook page. Next, I created an Instagram account. After, I went live to talk about my blogs. Now, I have published two books. I had to overcome fear. I moved past the fear that some people would not like my book or think that it did not have enough substance or depth. I moved past who would like my blogs. I moved past the idea that people may not purchase my book. I moved past the fear that people would not read my blogs or watch and listen to me go live about my blogs. I moved past the fear that no one would be impacted by what I had to say. I moved past the fear that I was not qualified. I moved past the fear that I was inadequate or needed the approval of others.
Now, I can look at my videos and see people have viewed them, been encouraged by them, and shared them for others to be encouraged as well. My goal as a speaker and a blogger is to encourage, motivate, and inspire people through the Word of God in their lives.
It is about starting new: a new perspective, a new level of faith, a new hope, and a new outlook with God.
