Newness because of Christ
Newness because of Christ
This a weekend where people come together and celebrate the resurrection of Christ. For the believer it is important that we are always reflecting on what Christ has done, but during this time we get to celebrate the specific day and moment in time. For example when you are married you should be thankful and love your spouse every day, but during an anniversary you are celebrating specifically that moment in time. I encourage everyone to find a church to go visit. Don’t allow someone to tell you not to go if you don’t regularly attend a church. This maybe the Sunday or day when you decide to make a change that will impact the rest of your life.
With that being said, I believe God has given me a word that is specifically for this time of celebration. My blog as you know is called New Beginnings With me. As I was praying, God began to deal with me on the topic that we are able to walk in Newness because of Christ. So, my topic today is Newness because of Christ.
Jesus is the core of being able to walk in the New. Because of Christ:
A new covenant of Grace was extended to everyone because of Christ. Romans 6:4, “4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” This scriptures says that because of Christ’s resurrection, we are able to live new. We do not have to be bound to situations and circumstances, and we are not bound by the mistakes, sin, and wrong that we may have committed according to the law. In Christ, we can pray for forgiveness, we can walk in forgiveness, and we can be free from any and everything that is not of God. Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings. All because he loves us.
We have new access. The Old Testament ended with the book of Malachai, and historically before the book of Matthews, where Jesus came on the scene, there were 400 years of silence. Oh how devastating it must have been to not hear from God for 400 years. A world without God’s direction, wisdom, and consolation for 400 years is a world I would not like to see. Colossians 1: 21-22, “21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.” Through Christ, we have access to relationship with God because under the blood that was shed for us, we are holy before God. Then we also have access to the promises of God. Our healing, our freedom, our joy, our peace, and our hope is possible because of Christ.
We have new authority. In Christ, we have authority over the enemy. We can war in prayer against the enemy and he has to flee. We can decree and declare the word of the Lord, and the enemy has to flee. Mark 16:17-18, “17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” The enemy can’t do what he wants to you, your family, your friends, on your job, or concerning your affairs.
This Year walk in the NEW!!
God is saying:
New Dimension in the Spirit
New Connections with like-minded people and those connected to your destiny
Look For New
Expect the better
Believe God for the better because he is your Father
Samuel went to Jesse’s house on assignment by God to anoint the new King to be because Saul had been reject because of disobedience. When Samuel went to Jesse’s house, Jesse bought all his sons in except David. Samuel’s instructions was that he would take a bottle of oil, and when he went to pour the oil out it would only fall out on the person who was anointed to be King. Samuel tried to pour the oil out on all the children that were there, but it did not come out on any of them. Samuel asked Jesse if he hand another son, and Jesse responded that he had one other who was taking care of the sheep. When David got to the house, and Samuel went to pour the oil out, and this time it came out. This is encouraging because the anointing that God has for your life no one else can have. The new levels, the new fire, and the better that is coming for your life is for you. The anointing on your life to reach those around you now and those you will reach in your future is only for you.
