It’s time to rest
The busyness of life can consume a person. The burdens of life can weight a person down. The stress of life can overwhelm can a person. The uncertainty of the future can discourage a person. However, when you decide to walk in New Beginnings, you can come into a place of rest.
Restlessness can be a sign of hopelessness, doubt, anxiety, and fear. The word of God says in II Timothy 1:7 “But God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. The word of God also says in I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your cares upon him for her cares for you.” These two scriptures alone show us that God realizes the difficulties that may arise in your life, but you do not have to succumb to the challenging circumstances that arise in your life. How many days have you cried about that situation? How many days have you had anxiety or making that choice? How many days have you been afraid to make that change? How many days have you worried about tomorrow?
God desires that you enter into a new level of rest. God desires that you bring him all the issues that concern you. There is nothing too big or too great for God to handle. The bible says in Luke 18:27, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” See we grow up with the lesson to take care of yourself and your problems. This is a good lesson to a certain degree. We should have a sense of responsibility to be wise in our decision making. However, there comes a time when you have to allow God to take control. My husband has a song called, “Jesus Take The Wheel.” How many of you are still driving the car while Jesus is in the passenger seat waiting for you to allow him to drive. God will never force himself on you. He loves you too much, and he desires real surrender, real love, and real trust.
God desires to give you the peace that you need, the strength that you need, the guidance that you need, the hope that you need, the joy that you need, the healing that you need, the miracle that you need, and the deliverance that you need. However, how long before you will release the issue to Him? He is your creator. Matthew 7:11, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” In this verse the reason why people are identified as evil is because compared to God’s love and goodness our ways are evil. However, since even the human race still knows to do right by their children, consider what God will do for his children (for you). This is so awesome. God is saying that what I have planned for you and what I can do for you is far greater than you can imagine.
God loves you so rest in him. Trust him with your life, your affairs, your problems, and your relationships. God has all power in his hands. He desires to be your refuge, your strength, and the solution to your greatest challenges. Surrender so you can rest in Him.
