Chosen For the Fire
We often wonder why we go through difficulty. We wonder why things have not changed for the better as we expected them to. We wonder why challenges always seem to spring up one things are going well. We know we should not question job, but we still find ourselves asking God why we have to go through certain things. It is not always easy to live the life that is ours. As children we grow up hoping for the best for our future, but it seems like as we mature and face different challenges, our hopes and dreams diminish if not completely destroyed. Everyone understands that life will not always be easy, but then when the obstacles comes, we find ourselves discouraged, depressed, angry, bitter, and upset. However, I want to encourage you to let you know that the reason you are faced with some of the challenges in your life is because you were Chosen for the Fire.
When you have relationship with Christ, God allows you to go through certain things because he knows that you can handle it. So, what is God trying to reveal to me and through me in this situation?
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three Hebrew boys who were chosen to be representatives of a nation while the children of Israel were in captivity by the Babylonians. These young men were chosen out of the children of Israel at the orders of the King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon: “Children in whom was no blemish, but well favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the King’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning tongue of the Chaldeans” (Daniel 1:4).
They received great esteem with the King over time, but In Daniel 3, “Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was three score cubics, and the breadth thereof, six cubics: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.” A decree was made for everyone to bow down before the idol. People who did not like the three men, told the king how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not bow. However, they did not refuse to bow out of disrespect or disregard for the kings decree, but it was more that they were loyal, faithful, and committed to their relationships with God. Even though they knew the possible consequences, they did not bow to the idol. Others may not have had the courage to take a stand of courage for God. Thank God, that God is a Good Father. He always take care of his children!!!!
When the King said that he was going to throw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they said, “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” These three men had great faith in God. They were challenged, and they were not going to back down because of fear or intimidation.
The enemy has been trying to get you to back down at the thought of what could happen. Many people back out because of fear and intimidation all orchestrated by the devil. However, we have to move forward! Then, many people will take a stand, but what happens when you are in the fire? You were challenged to see if you would take a stand, but what do you do when it’s too late to turn around. Do you stand firm on the word of God, or do we lose faith in the midst of the fire?
The three Hebrews boys kept the faith! Are you keeping the faith? Look at what happened while they were in the fire because they did not back down.
22 “Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
Jesus was in the first with the three Hebrew boys. They were loosed in the fire! Can you be free in the fire? When the three Hebrew boys came out of the fire, they never said that the fourth man came out. Jesus is still there. He is in every fiery situation that we face. He is ready to loose us. He is ready to redeem us. He is ready to astonish those who don't believe.
I know sometimes it seems like you are alone in what we are going through, but God is always with you. I know it seems like the fire is going to consume you, but God is faithful. I know it seems like you should give up because things are not going as you has planned, but God is the Alpha and the Omega. I know it seems unbearable, but God is there to ease every burden, calm every storm, and bring peace to ever situation. The great thing about this story is the fact that the three Hebrew boys come out without a mark or even the smell (residue) of what they been through. God is so awesome that the way he bring you out, it seems like you were never even in it to begin with. There will only be the eye-witness testimonies of his power in the life of the believer.
This testimony would have never happened if they had lost their faith before the fire and in the fire. Don’t lose your faith. God knew these men could stand the fire. God knew they would have faith. They were chosen by God to be chosen by the king, so when God delivered them out the fire, the whole kingdom would know who the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was!!!! The bible says in I Corinthians 10:13 “He will never put more on you than you can bear!!!” I Peter 1:7 MSG “Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.”
Know who you are and know who you have with you!!!! You were Chosen for the Fire!!!! Keep the Faith!!!
