Destined to Win: Seated With Christ
Destined to Win: Seated With Christ
Once we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts, God identifies what happened to Christ in his death, burial, resurrection, and ascension as have happened to you and I. Therefore, we are seated with Jesus in heavenly places.
There are several great blessings or perks that come with being seated with Christ.
1. Heaven is our home
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
The love that God has shown to us and has for us gives us access to eternal life. We have been saved by grace (love & favor). We are no longer bound by sin. Jesus took the guilty verdict for us. He took the punishment for us. He took it all on the cross. Through the blood of Christ, hell does not have to be our final destination
2. New Perception
3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
We have to set out heart on the greatest prize. No matter how challenging life becomes, we can be encouraged by the fact that the pains of this world won’t last forever. God will take care of us and one day we will be with him, absent of struggles and challenges that life brings us.
Hebrews 12: 1-3
12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
We have to choose to live the way God desires us to. We have to lay aside (throw away) hindrances and sin that pull us away from God. This may not always be easy, but it tells us to run with perseverance (we cant give up). We can make it if by focusing on what Jesus did and made available to us. If we do this we will not grow weary and lose hear, but we will remain encouraged to keep moving forward in spite of the difficulties.
Someone once said that we have to see Jesus as more real than our current obstacles. We do through different seasons in our lives. Therefore, the things that we go through are temporary. However, Jesus it eternal. God’s word is eternal.
Eternal- without beginning or end, never ending, endless, always existing
3. Life in the Supernatural
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance……
These verses lay out the different times that we find ourselves. However, we don’t have to live according to and accept the highs and lows of life.
The word of God is filled with promises to the believer. When we choose to live by faith and trust in God during our challenges, God can work miracles in our lives. That is the life of the supernatural.
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he without from them that walk uprightly”-
God is our Light in darkness, our protector during difficulties and he will take care of us. He desires to work miracles and bless us.
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”
Trust God and have faith.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
With Christ, you can reach every dream. We just have to put in the work and have faith for God to lead, direct, provide favor, and give grace.
4. Power Over the Devil
“Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven”
We do not have to take everything that the devil does to us. We have power over him!
Billy Brim’s son taught at an Authority Conference earlier this year and his message changed my life. Here are my notes:
We have a heavenly ministry (Fighting against the spiritual wickedness and powers of the air)
Authority- delegated power but it is still dependent upon the force behind the person using it.
We must have some force and know who we have backing us up (the All mighty God).
Example: The Andy Griffth Show
Barney: The Bad guys did not take him seriously even though he had a gun with one bullet in it that Andy allowed him to carry.
Andy: He could go to the bad guys without a gun and get the people in order.
Are you a Barney or an Andy in the Spirit?
You should have a reputation in heaven and in hell! Therefore, we must clock in everyday to fight against the spiritual powers of the air.
The spiritual wickedness and powers of the air are beneath us because we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus as the word says. We have to take our place. When we see change or not.
5. Total Victory because of Christ
Sometimes we can feel defeated because of the things we go through but we have to understand that because of Christ, we already have the victory.
I Corithians 15:57
“He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Blessings of Victory in every area of our life.
I John 5:4
“For everyone, who has been born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.”
Our faith in God leads us to victory. He enables us to overcome any difficulties that life throws our way. When we are born of God, we are overcomes.
These 5 things remind us that we are destined to win. It is important that we understand who we are in God and what Christ has made available to us. Romans 8 tells us that we are more that conquerors through him that loved us. Therefore be encouraged that all is well!
