Bloody and Beautiful
Bloody & Beautiful
I heard this song called the Hill recently by a new artist named Travis Green. The song really ministered to my soul, but there was one part of the song that really touched my heart. He descried what Jesus did on Calvary as Bloody and Beautiful. As I listened to the rest of the song, I could not take my mind off of this oxymoron phrase that was so spectacular. I feel like he put the words of how I feel about my Savior in these two words. I wrote this message two years ago called “The Power of the Cross”. My husband Corey told me a long time ago that I should write a book based on my message, but I just could not see how I would go about extending the content that was in the message to a book. However, after hearing that song, it was like the Holy Spirit was pushing me in the direction of writing a book based off that message, and now I had the perfect title.
This blog is an expression of my heart concerning what Jesus did on Calvary. Many of you reading this blog may already have a relationship with Christ, and I hope this blog will allow you to continue to serve the God that willingly sacrificed his son for you and I. Then, there may be some who do not have a relationship with God, and I hope this blog will help you gain an appreciation of the magnitude of the love that was shown on Calvary for you.
We live in a society filled with violence and a lack of spiritual genuineness. If we want to ever see change in this world, we must first begin with looking in the mirror. Life can bring us various obstacles and challenges from childhood into adulthood. These circumstances and situations sometimes mold us into something we were never meant to be: angry, irate, envious, insecure, lustful, rebellious, depressed, irrational, quick-tempered, apprehensive, anxious, fearful, sinister, or faithless. Unfortunately, we get so acquainted with these ways that we start to believe that this is who we really are but that's not the truth. You have allowed the image of who you are to become distorted, shattered, and broken. However, the truth is you are who God says that you are: blessed, the head, more than a conqueror, a warrior, royalty, and purposed. The stain of sin can pull us away from who we really are and make us believe that we are someone else. However, all you have to do is accept Christ and walk in his ways to be who God created you to be.
The reason that we have to accept Christ is because he became the mediator between humankind and God. The continuous sin of man forced us further away from God, and it is through Jesus that we are able to come back to him. Many do not understand the Christian revelation of the Trinity. I believe Benny Hinn in his book “Good Morning Holy Spirit” explains it best. He states that God is the father, Jesus is the Son, and the Holy Spirit is the comforter. He uses an analogy of turning on a light. He stated that God is the one who gives the command, Jesus flicks the light switch, and the Holy Spirit is the power that brings the light. The Trinity works together to fulfill the magnificent will of God. Then, the Trinity is possible because God is an infinite God, and it is only through faith that the finite mind of a human can understand the Trinity. It was the will of God to be reconnected to his children.
Jesus went to Earth and died for the sins of man because it was necessary. If you have ever seen Passion of the Christ, you will see what horrendous things happened to Jesus, a sinless man. However, you must understand that it was much worse than that because the bible says that he was unrecognizable. Yet it was beautiful because he did it all because he loved us. God allowed it all because he loved us. Then, when he ascended to heaven, he commissioned us to spread the gospel and do miracles, signs, and wonders in his name for the glory of God. Therefore, we were given the Holy Spirit to empower us to live for God and serve God. It was bloody and beautiful.
Romans 5: 7-8: "For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ Died for us."
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Be Encouraged today knowing that there is hope for you. God loves you so much that there was an ultimate sacrifice was made for you. The sacrifice of the life of Jesus put us in a place to have access to have everything God's words says that is for every believer. Stand strong in Faith. Grab hold of Faith. Walk with God. He has a great purpose and plan for your life!!! Bloody and Beautiful.
